O Governador de Santa Catarina Luiz Henrique da Silveira (PMDB) vetou o projeto de lei que cancelaria a cobrança da taxa de assinatura básica de telefonia fixa no Estado, alegando ser de competência federal e não estadual. Em entrevista à Rádio Bandeirantes AM de Tubarão o Deputado Federal Celso Russomano (PP/SP) esclareceu o fato, confirmando que é dever das Agências Reguladoras Federais verificar se essas cobranças são indevidas ou não, no caso da telefonia a Anatel (Agência Nacional de Telefonia).
Sobre as prestadoras de telefonia móvel o Deputado Russomano, afirma que se o Procon tiver força administrativa e cobrar um serviço decente, multando, e se for necessário fechando as lojas, problemas como sinal ruim e outros já comuns serão resolvidos. “No momento em que o Procon começar a multar, vai começar a doer o bolso dessas empresas, que a partir daí começam a achar soluções rápidas, e onde isso não acontece elas pintam e bordam” afirmou Russomano.Cabe ao Procon municipal exercer sua função como órgão de defesa do consumidor e agir contra essas cobranças abusivas e serviços mal prestados, pois esse órgão tem tanto poder de decisão quanto os federais.
